Fake AI Coding Agent Screen
Free fake AI coding agent screen: a terminal agent that plans, edits code with diffs, and runs passing tests on its own. Fullscreen, nothing runs. Pick a look inspired by popular terminal agents (warm orange, cyan, or violet), a task like adding auth, fixing a bug, or a refactor, and the language. Let it loop on its own or press keys to drive it. Every command, diff, and test result is scripted animation — no AI, no code execution, and no connection to any real tool.
What you can use it for
- Look busy with an AI agent 'shipping features' on a second monitor
- B-roll for videos and streams about AI and vibe coding
- Office prank: let a coworker think an agent is rewriting the codebase
- Mockups and slides about agentic coding workflows
How it works
- 1. Pick a look and task. Choose a warm, cyan, or violet agent style and a task such as adding rate limiting or fixing a failing test.
- 2. Go fullscreen. Click Fullscreen so the terminal fills the screen with no browser chrome.
- 3. Let it work. In Auto mode the agent thinks, reads files, edits code, and runs tests in a loop. Switch to Interactive to drive it with your keyboard.
What the fake AI agent does on screen
Each session plays out like a real terminal coding agent at work:
- A prompt is typed into the input box — for example, 'add rate limiting to the public API'.
- The agent thinks with a live spinner, timer, and token counter, then plans its work as a to-do list.
- It searches and reads files, writes new code, and edits existing files with green and red diffs and line numbers.
- It runs the test suite (npm test, pytest, or go test), shows passing results, ticks off its to-dos, and summarizes what it did.
Three tasks loop — adding rate limiting, fixing a failing checkout test, and speeding up product pages with caching — in TypeScript, Python, or Go.
Pick a look
The warm, cyan, and violet looks are inspired by the styles of popular terminal coding agents. They use no official names or logos, and ScreenBG isn't affiliated with any agent maker.
Ideas for using it
- B-roll for videos and streams about AI, vibe coding, and developer tools.
- Slides and demos explaining agentic coding without running a real agent live.
- Looking busy: an agent 'shipping features' on a second monitor.
- Office prank: let a coworker think an AI is rewriting the codebase.
Prefer a code editor? The Fake Coding Screen has an AI editor look with an agent chat panel, plus VS Code, IntelliJ, Xcode, and Neovim.
Frequently asked questions
Is a real AI running?+
No. Every prompt, tool call, diff, and test result is a pre-written script played back as an animation. Nothing is sent anywhere and no code runs.
Which terminal agents does it look like?+
The three looks are inspired by the styles of popular terminal coding agents in 2026. ScreenBG is not affiliated with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or any agent maker, and uses no official logos.
Can I control it?+
Yes. Choose the look, task, language, and speed. In Interactive mode each key press advances the session, so it reacts as you type.
