Black Screen

A full black screen that loads the instant you open it. Black is the easiest background for finding bright stuck pixels and backlight bleed, and on OLED or AMOLED panels it switches pixels off to save power and cut glare. Use it to rest your eyes at night or as a clean, dark backdrop while you present.

What you can use it for

  • Cut power draw on OLED and AMOLED screens, where black pixels turn off
  • Spot bright stuck pixels and backlight bleed against solid black
  • Ease eye strain while you work in a dark room
  • Hide a bright desktop behind a clean black backdrop while presenting
  • Set a dim, non-distracting screen for a bedroom or studio

How it works

  1. 1. Customize. Open the Customize panel to set text, colors, theme, and animation speed to your liking.
  2. 2. Go fullscreen. Click Fullscreen for an immersive, distraction-free display on any screen.
  3. 3. Done. No login, no install, nothing to download — it runs instantly in your browser and your settings are remembered.

Frequently asked questions

Does a black screen really save battery?+

On OLED and AMOLED displays, yes. Those panels light each pixel on its own, so a black pixel is simply off and uses almost no power. On regular LCDs the backlight stays on, so the saving is small.

How do I exit fullscreen?+

Press Esc, or move the mouse and click the exit button in the corner.

Can I use it to test my monitor?+

Yes. A solid black field is the standard way to check for stuck pixels, clouding, and backlight bleed.
