Ghosting Test
A pursuit-style ghosting test that runs in your browser with live telemetry: render FPS, monitor refresh rate, pixels per frame, and pixels per second. A bright object crosses a black field so you can spot motion blur trails from slow pixel response on VA and IPS panels. Auto-detects refresh rate, no install, works fullscreen on any monitor.
What you can use it for
- Check a new gaming monitor for motion blur before the return window closes
- Compare ghosting between VA, IPS, and TN panels
- Test overdrive settings on a gaming display
- Record response-time footage for monitor reviews
How it works
- 1. Customize. Open the Customize panel to set text, colors, theme, and animation speed to your liking.
- 2. Go fullscreen. Click Fullscreen for an immersive, distraction-free display on any screen.
- 3. Done. No login, no install, nothing to download — it runs instantly in your browser and your settings are remembered.
Frequently asked questions
What is monitor ghosting?+
Ghosting is a blurry trail behind fast-moving objects caused by slow pixel response time. It is most visible on dark backgrounds with bright objects moving quickly.
What settings should I start with?+
Let ScreenBG auto-detect your refresh rate, start at 4 pixels per frame, then increase pixels per frame until a trail appears. Lower your monitor overdrive if the trail is excessive.
